The great bow of Shiva:-
Once in Daksha Prajapati was performing a sacrifice in his house . All the gods were invited leaving lord Shiva . Lord Shiva's wife Sati who was the daughter of Daksha.Shiva refused to go to the sacrifice because of the fight he had with Daksh before. Sati devi made a  decision of going to the sacrifice without invitation leaving Shiva behind. Shiv tried to stop her but he was unsuccessful in stopping her. She attended the sacrifice but her father didn't even se her face and started talking bad about Shiva . This was an insult to Dakshayani (Sati). She decide to creat fire and sacrifice herself and sacrificed her body. Hearing this news Shiva got angry and went into the sacrifice hall and killed Daksha with his trishul. The others who came to defend Daksha were killed by Shiva's arrows. After this lord Brahma and Vishnu calmed down shiva and asked him to forgive Daksh. Shiva forgived daksha and he had a goat head fixed instead of his old head . Daksh to asked sorry to shiva and the sacrifice ended . 




 The bow which shiva used here was given to some sanyasi's they gave it to Devartha (ancestor of King Janka) and it reached Janka as an ancestor's used thing . No one could lift the bow it was dragged by thousands of men and brought to the svayamvar hall. After all this story narrated  by sage vishwamitra. He asked King Janka to take Rama and Lakshmana to the svayamvar hall tomorrow.
