A great epic comprised into short story collection

          Ramayana 



Ramayana is an epic in India . It comprises of 7 kands . We will be talking about the first one that is :
 
BALA KAND :

 In this kand it contains the childhood of Rama (eight Avatar of lord Vishnu). Rama was the son of the great King Dasharatha . Rama was the descendants of the great king Ikshavku . In the race of Ikshvaku was a great King Dasharatha who was the ruler of Ayodhya. Dasharatha didn't have child he was worried about this issue . He went to his royal preist the sage Agastya . The sage suggested to do a offering to Agni (the fire god). Ayodya was filled with joy, the king made guest houses for the guest . Houses for preist which was supervised by sage Vashistha. The king was told the story of Anga desha . How it had agreat drought because of a curse from lord shiva . There was no rain a great famine was created when the king asked the sages they suggested to call sage rompada who lived in the deep jungles . When he sage would arrive the drought will end and there will be rain .
The king sent his servants who can change their form at will . The servants entered the ashram in the form of apsaras . The sage Romapada gave them food . He thought who are these people who come to a rishi's ashram . After the hospitality the servants  told the message of the king . The rishi decided to go to Anga desha . As soon as he set foot in Anga desha it started pouring heavily. The drought in the kingdom ended on. The rishi was recieved with honour. In Ayodhya the preparation for the offering was done . To thousands of brahmins , rishis and preists the king gave gifts , jewels, cows , gold , diamonds etc. They made the offerings after which , a divine being rose from the sacrifice fire and gave a golden pot . 
It contained a porridge . Dasharatha divided this porrigde between his three wife's Kaushalya , Sumitra , Kaikeye. The first part was given to Kaushalya , second was given to sumitra and the third part was given to  Kaikaye.The last part was given to Sumitra she had  the porridge two times.
