A walk through Mythology

 Ramayana The sage Vishwamitra was very pleased with Rama he had another work that was marrage of Rama and Sita. So to accomplish this task the sage took the princes towards Mithila capital of the king Janaka. The sage left he ashram with princes and he'd towards Mithila and at the evening they reached the river Sona . The sage narrated the story of  Kusha's son's kushumbha,kushanbha,Asoortajasa and Vasu. The sage took the princes in a way that they cannot get tired. He narrated the story of the places which arrived adn arrived at Mithila the capital of king Janaka.  The great bow of Shiva :- King Janaka brought the the bow of Shiva . The bow was brought up by thousands of elephants. When the sage and Rama arrived at Janka's palace the king said that " I was waiting for Rama to come. My daughter is a Avatar of Lakshmi. In the next day the sage narrated the story of the great bow .  The story will be continued.

 Ramayana The slaying of Tataka and Yakshini :- After hearing Vishwamitra's  message Rama gave a promise that he would kill Tataka and Yakshini . He held his bow and gave a twang. From this sound the demon Tataka came rushing out of the forest . Lakshmana cut off her nose and years with his arrows. Vishwamitra cried out to Rama that " Oh! Raghava you should slay this demon before night if she is not killed her strength will be doubled during night." After hearing the sage's words Rama took a arrow and killed the rakshasi . After the death of Tataka Yakshini came rushing towards Rama . She was also killed in the same way. After the death of these rakshasi the gods showered flowers on Rama.  Indra suggested the sage Vishwamitra to give Rama divine weapon's. Rama gets divine weapon's :- The sage Vishwamitra taught Rama all the divine and celestial weapons which the sage knew. The sage told Rama when to use this weapons and on whom these weapons should be used.  V...

 Ramayana After going out with sage Vishwamitra the sage was followed by Rama and Lakshmana. They reached the River Sarayu nine miles from the capital Ayodhya. The sage " Oh! great prince Rama please purify this water with your divine hands." This river's journey starts from the Manasa sarovar near mount kailash. After crossing the river Sarayu they reached Rishi kama's ashram . The sun went down. The rishi Vishwamitra did tapas for the whole night. In the morning he woke Rama and Lakshmana with a divine mantra "Kaushalya Sultana rama Purva Sandhya pravartate ". After this prayer Rama woke up and had a bath were the river Sarayu and Ganga met. After offering prayers to the sun god they bid good bye to rishi Kama and he'd towards the forest Tataka .  Story of great Sage Vishwamitra    (Note:- In this blog I am writing the Valmiki Ramayana in short stories but this story includes the story of Ramayana ) This great sage was a Kshatriya while born . He was born in the dynasty of Ammavasu . Mahabharat contains the story of Vishwamitra's birth . The Bala kandh starts with story of Vishwamitra . The sage's birth name was Kusha (please don't be confused. He is not Kusha son of Rama). He was the son of Richika in race of the Bhrighu . Richika married Satyavati (not the character from Mahabharat). Richika wanted to have a good child with good qualities. Vishwamitra became the King after Richika. Conflict with Vashistha and Kaushika makes Vishwamitra a Bhramarishi:- Once Kaushika (other name for Vishwamitra) went around the whole globe with his huge army .          Ramayana  Four son's to king Dasharatha :- The sacrifice was finished . The king had four son's Kaushalya the first wife had one son who is the Avatar of Lord Vishnu they named him , Rama . The second wife Sumitra had two sons Lakshamana (Avatar of sheshanaga) and Shatrugnah . The third wife Kaikeye had one son Bharatha . Lakshamana was devoted to Rama and Shatrugnah was devoted to Bharatha .Dasharatha was very happy he gave millions of cows , jewels, etc to sage, brahmins , priest . Ayodhya was overjoyed .  As the children grew under the guidance of the Rishi Vashistha . They master the four Vedas, Upanishads etc. When the children were twelve years old the great Rishi Vishwamitra arrived at the palace of Dasharatha. The king received the sage with great respect .           Ramayana  Ramayana is an epic in India . It comprises of 7 kands . We will be talking about the first one that is :   BALA KAND :  In this kand it contains the childhood of Rama (eight Avatar of lord Vishnu). Rama was the son of the great King Dasharatha . Rama was the descendants of the great king Ikshavku . In the race of Ikshvaku was a great King Dasharatha who was the ruler of Ayodhya. Dasharatha didn't have child he was worried about this issue . He went to his royal preist the sage Agastya . The sage suggested to do a offering to Agni (the fire god). Ayodya was filled with joy, the king made guest houses for the guest .
